Frequently Asking Questions Why based in London? Russian Axis aspires to an international outlook and as such must secure its place within a hub for international outreach. Being the key European financial, business and media center, as well as the birthplace of European democracy, London is uniquely positioned to become a base for Russian Axis. Furthermore, its geographical proximity to Russia and to the United States with its numerous NGOs and research centers is also very important. How Russian Axis is funded? The initial start up funding came from the Director General supported by private contributions from progressive-thinking Russian people and organisations. Future fund-raising programmes for Russian Axis will be targeted to secure the support of leading international foundations that share our values and goals (e.g Ford Foundation, Carnegie Foundation, etc). To maintain its independence Russian Axis will undertake fund-raising amongst a wide spectrum of sources from both inside and outside Russia. Such donations will be required to fall into strict parameters that are designed to protect the organisation’s independence and objectivity. The list of funders will be published on this site in due course. What are the principal values of the organisation? The constitution of Russian Axis outlines its vision, mission and values. The organisation believes in democracy, openness, transparency and mutual understanding. Russian Axis seeks to provide an objective, accurate and unbiased view of various complex problems in Russia today. Russian Axis respects everyone’s right to express individual opinion on any of the issues addressed by the organisation, and it will hold non-judgmental positions towards visions presented by the experts. Who will become the Russian Axis partners? Any individual and/or organisation interested in an objective view on current Russian affairs, and willing to contribute to a discussion on Russia’s issues, challenges and problems will be viewed as a potential partner. |
